Apple’s partner begins to produce processors A12 for iPhone this year
Company TSMC began to produce processors for iPhone 2018. The chip will likely be called the “A12” – informs an information portal Bloomberg.
Processors A12 will apply the 7-nanometer process technology, the current generation iPhone works on 10-nanometrovoj chips. Switching to 7-nanometer processor will improve the performance and increase the efficiency of the smartphone.
In April, TSMC stated that it began mass production of 7-nanometer processors, but did not disclose for whom they are made. As practice shows, Apple and TSMC are willing and able to compete with chips from Qualcomm.
TSMC chip production for iPhone 2018 is on normal schedule: last year the company started mass production of the chip A11 in may.
