As Roskomnadzor “cleans” the App Store
Last week business social network LinkedIn has disappeared from the App Store and Google Play. By 9 January it was unclear what caused the removal, however today the situation said in Roskomnadzor.
According to RBC, in December, the Agency sent an official request for the lock application LinkedIn, Apple and Google. Over the last month, both companies have complied with the orders of Roskomnadzor, so in early January of 2017, the program has been removed from the stores.
In mid-November, the social network has been blocked in Russia. LinkedIn did not provide data about localization of the servers in the Russian Federation, which require amendments in FZ “About personal data”. So removing the app was the logical conclusion to blocking the service in Russia.
Previously it was assumed that because of the requirements to the IT-companies to store data of Russian users in Russia under sanctions can get Apple since iCloud servers are not located in Russia. However, at the moment Roskomnadzor claims against the company not.
