Mac Pro on wheels, new iOS, macOS, watchOS and other announcements WWDC 2019
On June 3, Apple opened a conference for WWDC developers with a demonstration of new software and hardware. actualapple.com led the live broadcast of the event. The most important announcements: 28-core Mac Pro and new versions of operating systems.
The new Mac Pro has a 28-core Intel Xeon processor. RAM – up to 1 TB. A monitor with a 32-inch screen and a resolution of 6K is attached to the system unit (a curious detail: it is on wheels).
The cheapest kit will make up the system unit for $ 5999 and $ 4999.
Apple has not updated Mac Pro since 2013.
IOS version 13 is twice as fast as the 12th due to the new application packaging algorithm. Added dark mode – as in macOS. You can now print using svaypov.
Updated Maps application: now there are more details and an incredible full-screen mode.
Log in to your favorite application is now possible through Apple ID.
Access points in public places will no longer be able to read information about the device – iOS will not allow.
Of course, the camera was updated: it became easier to edit photos on the smartphone. For the first time this is also true for video – it can be flipped right onto the iPhone. Miracles.
iOS 13 will not appear on the iPad. The tablet got its own OS – iPadOS.
A test version of iOS for developers is already available. Full release – in the fall.
The new macOS is called Catalina. Predictably Apple killed iTunes. Instead, there are three applications: Music, TV and Podcasts.
MacOS now supports iPad apps. In addition, thanks to the SideCar feature, the iPad will be conveniently used in conjunction with a computer – as an auxiliary screen or as a replacement for a graphics tablet.
Another interesting innovation is the Find My application, which combines the Find My Friends and Find My iPhone services. Users will be able to find their devices, even if they are not connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network.
The full release of Catalina – in the fall, the beta version for developers will be available on June 4th.
Apple Watch will have its own application store. Smart watches will become more autonomous, but this applies only to models with LTE support, which are not officially supplied to Russia.
We will tell you about all the significant announcements in more detail. Stay tuned for updates on the site.
