The hacker who stole photos of celebrities from iCloud, faces 5 years in prison
One of the hackers confessed to the theft of celebrity photos from iCloud. 28-year-old Edward Majerczyk from Chicago July 1, 2016, was accused of committing illegal access to more than 300 accounts in the cloud services, including belonging to known people from the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.
From 2013 to 2014, he sent his victims a letter supposedly on behalf of the security service Internet provider with a request to send user names and passwords and thus had access to personal information. The victims ‘ names were not disclosed, Majercik threatens till 5 years of imprisonment.

According to police, the two cases are not linked, but both the perpetrator was found through a Federal investigation in the controversial case, dubbed “Celebgate”, when the network leaked the personal photos and correspondence stars.
When the victims were more than 100 people, including Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Kendrick, Kelli garner, Alexandra Chando, Mary-Kate Olsen, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne.
“These criminals not only hacked the account people, but also violated their privacy, causing them serious moral damage – said the Deputy Director of the Los Angeles FBI office Deirdre Fike. – Since most of us use electronic devices containing personal information, such incidents once again remind us of the need to protect their data.”
