The iAd service will be closed by 30 June
Someone will say that “gone is the era”, someone relieved to exclaim: “finally!”. At the end of this week Apple has officially confirmed that appears earlier hearing that mobile advertising service iAd is closed.
The corresponding statement appeared yesterday on the official website dedicated to software developers for Apple products. Since then, the company will no longer accept applications in its ad network, however, developers with existing advertising campaigns, of course, will continue to receive their profits from advertising until the end of June this year.
iAd was launched in 2010 as an advertising platform, designed to increase the installed base of iOS. This advertising was designed to enrich developers and to free users from annoying traditional banners. However, as history has shown, this project of Steve jobs was not as successful as planned.
