The state Duma has introduced a number of restrictions for soldiers in the field use of the Internet. This writes the news Agency Interfax.

The state Duma has banned military personnel to publish personal data on the Internet

Young people performing military service, will not be allowed to publish online personal details of yourself or other military. According to representatives of the state Duma, this restrictive measure will help to protect the Russian army from foreign intelligence organizations.

According to their statement, personal information, published by the military in social networks, can be used as “employees of special services of the separate States” in order to create a negative image of the Russian government and the state policy of the Russian Federation, and also for moral pressure on soldiers and their loved ones.

Were banned photos and videos, as well as GEODATA containing the information about the official activities of the military. Mainly it is forbidden to publish data to determine the jurisdictional affiliation of the soldier or information on the military units and the places of their dislocation. This prohibition applies to foreign nationals who are currently undergoing military service in the Russian army. However, military wife, and fired staff of the army under these restrictive measures do not fall.

In case of violation of the ban a soldier may receive disciplinary punishment from the commander of his unit.
