WhatsApp has become fully encrypted and confidential
It seems that the judicial Saga involving Apple and the FBI gave the other inhabitants of Silicon valley are confident that we can safely guarantee the safety of personal data of users and not be afraid of conflict with special services. Today Facebook owned messenger, WhatsApp has received an update, in which the correspondence of a billion users of the service will be fully encrypted.
As stated in the press release, the encryption is through, that is both the sender and the recipient. This means that messages will only be visible to the participants of the dialogue, and their interception will be impossible for law enforcement authorities, for the application developers.
But the concern about our privacy ends. If you have already updated the app, and your interlocutor is an older version, you will receive a notification that your correspondence is not encrypted and can be intercepted.
FBI reaction to this news has not followed yet, but one can expect that in addition to Telegram the terrorists turned out to be one secure tool of communication.
