A new way to simultaneously include Night Shift and power saving mode
The fact that the new regime Night Shift, introduced in iOS 9.3, not available with power safe mode can be explained from a technical point of view. From the point of view of logic it defies explanation. We charge the iPhone every day, and often Night Shift mode at the same time we need to power safe mode. Who knows, maybe the simultaneous operation of the two modes will be an exclusive feature of the iPhone 7. It would be in the spirit of Apple. Fortunately there are still loopholes in iOS.
In iOS 9.3 you can ask Siri to switch to Night Shift, voice assistant and included it without turning off the power saving mode. It was a flaw, which Apple fixed in iOS 9.3.1. However, even if you have already updated to iOS 9.3.1 that many did with great relief, you still can include Night Shift without turning off the power saving mode. However, it has become a bit more complicated.
First of all, you should choose English for voice assistant Siri. Then you will need to perform four steps:
- Turn on the power saving mode in the settings menu “Battery”.
- Activate Siri and ask in English include Night Shift. The assistant will answer you: “In order to turn on Night Shift, I’ll have to turn off Low Power Mode. Shall I continue?”.
- Say “yes” and before Siri will accept your answer, press the lock button on your iPhone. Once the screen of your smartphone is locked, you should hear the Siri signal that confirms reception of your team.
- Unlock your iPhone, and if you did everything at the right time, Night Shift and power saving mode will operate simultaneously.
