In an interview with TIME for Louise Doerr told why he preferred the iPhone’s camera. According to the photographer, the iPhone provides high quality pictures regardless of time, place and weather conditions of the shoot. Moreover, the smartphone seems to be participating in the shooting of “less Intrusive” than a bulky professional camera.

“I like the simplicity with which you created these pictures. But the best part for me, as a photographer, is that I feel light and free. It’s almost as if I were taking pictures with their hand. No noise, no extra gadgets, devices and other things — just me and the heroine of the shooting, says Doerr. I tried to imagine these portraits as paintings. I am fascinated by the combination of the landscapes and the faces of women, the life and time imprinted on them. I’m not talking about physical traits, and more — about the spiritual footprints”.
