Apple conducts a survey among employees about the need to make their products more affordable
Apple has invited its employees to vote for one of 20 different “social order”, starting with using technology to improve environmental sustainability for empowerment of elderly people”. One such project proposes to make company products more accessible to consumers.
“Our themes are the result of global cooperation, innovation and enthusiasm. They consist of intentions and supported by detailed ideas. Each of them reflects our confidence that we can make the world a better place.
In an internal document, Apple said the vote will determine which projects should be given more attention, which to develop and test. At first glance it seems that all of 20 those similar to each other, but there are some specific details.
One of the topics is as follows: “to Make Apple products accessible to people who can’t afford it”.
Employees of the company suggested three possible options:
- To transfer withdrawn or refurbished products Apple-governmental organizations.
- To offer consumers the opportunity to donate their devices to the needy.
- To expand the program Trade Up to donate a percentage of devices in favor of schools.
Now, Apple already supports some schools and organizations supply free or reduced-price equipment.
