Apple has patented a system with artificial intelligence to recognize pedestrians

Apple wants to use artificial intelligence to detect obstacles in front of the car in poor visibility. This is stated in a new patent application that was published by Patently Apple.

The document describes several methods to detect objects in the dark and collision avoidance. It can be lights that direct light to the intended obstacle. Also lights can be used as a warning signal to other road users.

But the most interesting is the creation of a bitmap pedestrian and projecting it onto the windshield. The system will have a database of shapes and motion models to be used for the detection of danger.

About plans for Apple’s project Titan almost nothing is known. Initially it was assumed that the company wants to make their own car. Later came the insides that Apple decided to develop technology for other manufacturers.
