Apple stopped paying money sites for links to apps in the App Store

Apple has announced that it will remove applications for iOS and macOS out of your affiliate program. This means that websites that publish affiliate links on application, will no longer receive an income from them, reports MacRumors.

According to Apple, the decision was taken after the launch of the updated App Store and Mac App Store. The company believes that the built-in stores better promote apps than third-party sites.

Thank you for your participation in the affiliate program for apps. With the launch of the new App Store on iOS and macOS, with their advanced methods of detection applications, we are reducing the incentive program. Beginning October 1, 2018, programs will be removed affiliate links to apps for iOS and macOS. All other content types (music, movies, books and TV) remain in the affiliate program.

Apple pay partners 7% of the revenues the App Store for publishing links to applications for iOS and macOS. Last year the company tried to reduce this figure to 2.5%, but has kept it at the same level after a disturbance developers and publishers.
