Crimean authorities cut off the Internet in the city Armyansk. As reports the edition Slon, citing the Senator from Crimea, member of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Olga Cowicide, it was made “for security reasons”.
This measure was adopted in connection with the last skirmish on the border with Ukraine.
“For security reasons (off the Internet. – approx. ed.). This is to ensure that certain intelligence agencies…there was no penetration… for security purposes, you need first of all these events, and people understand it”, – said Cowicide.
Previously, “Krymtelekom” reported the disruptions to the Internet in Northern regions of the Crimea because of engineering works. The operator attributed this to the maintenance on the data communications networks.
At the moment, it is reported that the Internet is again available throughout the Peninsula.
