FAS has fined “Beeline” for 300 000 rubles per advertising SMS-mailing

Management of Federal Antimonopoly service (UFAS) across Moscow has fined one of the largest Russian operators of cellular communication “Beeline” on 300 000 rubles for distribution of spam, according to message service. The basis for attraction to administrative responsibility was a violation of the Federal law “On advertising” when sending SMS advertisements to the subscriber number of individuals without their consent.

Last month, the Antimonopoly service fined “MegaFon” for SMS-spam to 1 million rubles (two fine of 500 000 rubles) for illegal advertising. The operator called the penalty in 1 million roubles commensurate with the violation.
