How to free up a few extra gigabytes on your iPhone without jailbreak

Step 1: connect your iPhone or iPad to computer and start iTunes.

Step 4: In the pop-up window, specify a password to protect the backup of the iPhone.

iTunes will start backing up your smartphone. If the process does not start automatically, click “back up now”. Wait until the procedure is completed.

Step 5: Now you need to restore this copy on your iPhone. To do this, click “Restore from backup”.

Step 6: iTunes will ask you to disable the “Find my iPhone” on the device.

On the smartphone go to Settings ā€“> iCloud ā€“> Find my iPhone and toggle the switch in the “Off” position. Click OK to iTunes to continue.

Step 7: Again click “Restore from backup” in iTunes and select backup. Make sure you have selected the last backup that you created a few minutes ago, and click “Restore”. Specify the password from a backup.

Step 8: At this stage iTunes will restore the backup to your iPhone.

As a result, you get the same smartphone with the same content, but additional free space in the device memory. Depending on the amount you can get up to 2-3 GB without deleting music, games and applications.

How can free space? The fact that iTunes creates a backup copy of the data without cache and temporary files. The trick works about as well as in the way download movies from iTunes. In both cases, there is optimization of data on your device by deleting unnecessary files.
