With its help, the backup procedure is transformed into an invisible and easy process, but… slow. Yes, really slow. Backup Mac with occupied 300 GB may take a day or two. But there is a way to fix it.

Open the application “Terminal” on your Mac, and then type the command below (after you enter the admin password, if you have it installed):

sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=0

This command allows you to significantly speed up the backup process by adjusting individual parameters. Unfortunately, it works only until the computer is restarted — then everything must be repeated again.

If you want to keep this speed, you must follow the procedure below.

Open a terminal and type the following command:

sudo nano /Library/LaunchDaemons/nothrottle.plist

Opens a text editor where you want to insert the following (your text here):

After that press Ctrl + 0 (not Cmd!) and Enter. Then press Ctrl + X and paste this code:

sudo chown root /Library/LaunchDaemons/nothrottle.plist;sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/nothrottle.plist

Ready! Even after rebooting you can enjoy high-speed backup.
