How to save time on deleting files in macOS

To delete any of the files on your Mac, you need to perform several actions. Tell how to get rid of unnecessary queries, and delete files in Mac OS, bypassing the recycle bin.

Sooner or later, almost all computer owners are faced with the lack of space on the hard disk and start to “clean” the memory from unwanted things. Moreover, in order to free up space on your hard drive, just storing unnecessary files to the trash is not enough. By default, users of Apple computers have to delete files to the recycle bin and then delete them from it. In addition, at the final stage you will be prompted to confirm the deletion.

If you work daily with many different files and folders that you have to remove, this manual will help you to speed up the process.

Option 1

To avoid extra clicks on the confirmation of deletion of files during the cleaning basket, simply:

  • Hold down the “Option” key.
  • Click the right mouse button on the “Basket”.
  • To choose “empty recycle bin”.

Thus, the basket will be cleared without warning.

Option 2

If you do not want to press Option each time you empty the recycle bin, you can change the settings in “System settings”.

  • Open “Finder”.
  • In the menu, select “Finder > Preferences”.
  • Click on “Advanced”.
  • Uncheck “Show warning before you empty the recycle bin”.

Option 3

Files and folders can be deleted immediately, bypassing the recycle bin. If you want to avoid having to delete something twice

  • Select the file or folder you want to delete.
  • Hit “Option + Command + Delete”.
  • Confirm the deletion.

I prefer the third option and I don’t need something to score the basket. Besides, when a routine work, reducing a three-step process of removing one step, you can save time and nerves.
