iOS 11 installed on 76% of compatible devices

According to information on the Apple website for developers, iOS 11 installed on 76% of all compatible models iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch: 11% more than in the beginning of 2018.

The graph shows that 19% 11 compatible with iOS devices still function on iOS 10. Another 5% of the devices are marked as running on earlier versions of iOS. As it turned out, the number of users using the latest software, rather rapidly.

In January 2018, the share iOS 11 was equal to 65%, iOS 10 and older systems – 28% and 7%. And a month before iOS 11 was 59%, while iOS 10 and a group of “Informed” scored, respectively, 33% and 8%.

Of course, in comparison with previous results, the last recorded points to a slight slowing of the transitions on iOS 11: the average is about four percent per month. Reduction of speed of installation are likely to be associated with a group of iOS devices 10 that can be updated.

A similar analysis of Android shows that only 4.6% of compatible devices are running Android “Oreo”. Among these, 4.1% use version 8.0 and 0.5% latest version 8.1. Most of the rest of the gadgets is running 7.x Nougat, Marshmallows 6.0 and 5.x Lollipop.

Basically, a data variability associated with different manufacturers ‘ approach to updates. Apple offers a fresh version of iOS for almost all users at the same time, and the owners of many Android smartphones have to wait for each individual manufacturer will not bother to add support for the new system.
