Mac sales rose amid a General decline in the PC market
During the first quarter of 2018 Mac sales showed growth, albeit small. What can be said about the computer market in General. It is reported by analyst firm Gartner.
Recent research analysts revealed that Apple shipped 4.3 million units in 3 months. 1.5% more than last year. In fact, the company regained lost in 2017 position and again took the fourth place among the major computer manufacturers.
First place traditionally got HP. It owns 20.8% of the total PC market. Lenovo followed with 20%, and Dell with 16%.
In total, the first quarter of 2018 was put 61.6 million computers. 1.4% less than in the same period last year, which suggests that the success of individual corporations does not affect the overall situation.
Significant growth was shown and Dell and HP, but outsiders like ASUS still pull the market down. Of course, this is not the fault of the companies as such. User interest in classical computers gradually reduced and to expect it to increase is not necessary. However, the decline of the PC market was delayed and they are clearly not soon leave users. Perhaps the change will happen in 2020, when Apple will release computers with proprietary processors.
