Online library “librusek” will block forever in September
The Moscow city court decided to close resource “librusek”, specializing in the distribution of books online. In the absence of an appeal decision will come into force on 8 September 2016.
The lawsuit was filed by the publishing house “AST”, which was represented in court by the Association for the protection of copyright on the Internet (ISAPI).
“The decision was made in the three works: “Ancient. Background. Book three of author Sergei Tormasova, “Who does not think about the consequences,” Daniel Koretsky and Tender leaves, poisonous roots” by Elena Mikhalkova”, — said the head of ISAPI Maxim Rabika.
The decision will be sent for execution to Roskomnadzor, which will make the site address in the unified register of blocked resources. According to the service statistics Similarweb, monthly attendance, lib.rus.the EU is 9.4 million people.
“Librusek” was founded on 10 June 2007. The completion of the resource engaged the users, the downloading of the books was free. In November 2009, after a DDoS attack site, was introduced by the forced redirection of anonymous users in online shopping when trying to download the book, and after some time free access to the site was restricted to registered users.
A number of users who did not agree with the innovations, we created a similar, but free online library Flibusta.net. Roskomnadzor blocked “Flibustu” in the summer of 2015 by the decision of Moscow city court after the publishing house “Eksmo” laid claim to the published on the website of the books of ray Bradbury “451 degrees Fahrenheit”, “dandelion Wine”, “the Martian Chronicles” and “the Golden apples of the Sun”.
According entered into force on 1 may last year the new version of the anti-piracy law the Moscow city court in the first instance consider claims for the posting of movies, books, music and software. The court at the request of the right holder decides on pre-trial interim measures –
introducing pirate resource in the black list of Roskomnadzor. The law also envisages a procedure for “life” website blocking for repeated violation.
