Publishers are asked to fine the “Yandex” on 700 thousand roubles

Association for the protection of copyright on the Internet sent a complaint to Roskomnadzor on behalf of the publishing house “Azbuka-Atticus”, “Eksmo-AST” and the Alpina Digital with a request to fine the “Yandex” for the links to pirate sites RuTracker and “librusek”.

About this newspaper “Kommersant” said Director of the Association Maxim Rabika. Roskomnadzor at the request of the publication did not answer, and “Yandex” has refused comments.

The complaint stated that “mirrors” blocked sites “Yandex” as the recommended offers links to RuTracker and “librusek”. According to the Director of the Association, the organization has attached evidence in the form of screenshots, however, Roscomnadzor can reject the claim. The recommendation algorithm proposes to move to a torrent-tracker, if the user has not found the desired page. Thus, in order to see the links need to make a few transitions.

System recommendations appeared in the summer of 2018, simultaneously with the law on fines for the links to the blocked page. For violating companies face fines of 500 to 700 thousand rubles.

RuTrecker was forever blocked by the decision of Moscow city court in 2015. The lawsuit came from the company “Eksmo”, found on the resource copies of their books.
