Ratings in the App Store will be displayed correctly

Last week, users noticed that the ratings of many apps in the App Store do not match the ratings that appear for applications in the SERP Google. For example, if the application were four “stars”, Google could easily assign a single “star”. How did this happen?

As stated by Google representatives, the problem really was in the search algorithm, and it will be fixed this week, writes The Wall Street Journal. This affected several hundred developers.

The search engine incorrectly calculated the average rating of the application due to the slow processing of App Store reviews. Previously on a similar issue complained by many developers ā€” according to them, to upgrade the rating in the Apple store went from 2 to 3 weeks.

So the blame for the incorrect display of the rating in the search results is not only Google. To reimburse developers also nobody is going, even though false information can scare away many potential buyers programs.

It is noted that the problem affected not only the us App Store, but app stores of other countries, including Russia. So when you search the program in Google just in case, check its rating in the App Store.
