Sharp introduced the frameless smartphone with two “bangs”
Last year, Sharp released the Aquos R Compact with a terrible design. The phone got a tiny cutout for the camera and a huge “chin” for the fingerprint scanner. This year the company came up with how to increase screen size, while retaining the fingerprint scanner.
Smartphone Aquos R2 Compact received 5.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz in which two cutouts – one for the selfie-camera, and the second under a biometric scanner. Despite its small size, the device is one of the most powerful phones to date. Aquos R2 Compact features Snapdragon 845, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB of memory, the main camera is 22.6 megapixels and a battery of 2,500 mAh. It is running on Android 9 Pie.
Many people do not like this design decision, but it is the high quality and very productive Android-smartphone with a small screen and frameless design.
The novelty will appear on sale next year. Initially it will be available in Japan, but perhaps Sharp will expand the geography of sales.
