The buses of Saint-Petersburg will be free Wi-Fi
In the near future in St. Petersburg buses will appear free Wi-Fi. About it told the press service of “Passazhiravtotrans”. Pilot project for free Wi-Fi access to be launched on Friday, August 19 on routes No. 39 and No. 39Э.
The pilot project for free Wi-Fi access in city buses begins in St. Petersburg.
“The service will be available from 19 August in the salons of all 19 bus (route No. 39 and 39Э) that runs between the metro station “Moskovskaya” and international airport “Pulkovo”. During testing of the system, which will run until November, will examine the demand for services among the passengers and analysed the work equipment, then a decision will be made on further implementation of the project”, — stated in the message “Passazhiravtotrans”.
To gain access to the network when boarding the bus the passenger will need to undergo an initial authorization by entering a mobile phone number. The next trips on the same routes the connection will happen automatically. Information on the availability of Internet access will be posted inside each bus.
“By implementing this technology on routes leading to the airport, we care about the convenience of the guests of St. Petersburg and make an important contribution to the formation of the image of the Northern capital as a tourist center. Arriving tourists without extra cost for communication services during travel to obtain necessary information and to better navigate in a new place”, − noted in “Passazhiravtotrans”
“Passazhiravtotrans” implements the project of creation of free Wi-Fi access in buses in conjunction with the company Netbynet, a subsidiary of “MegaFon”.
