The Internet has the answer to the authorities: petition for the abolition of the “law of Spring” gained 100,000 votes
Petition to cancel anti-terrorist package of amendments on the website of the Russian public initiative has gained 100,000 signatures. This is the necessary number of votes in order to be considered in Parliament.
“We, the signatories of this petition people, please consider the law carefully, as this law requires a lot of money, and may lead to the bankruptcy of many Internet companies and reduce state revenues from taxes obtained from them,” say the initiators.
The authors emphasize that the law requires huge money and can lead to the bankruptcy of many Internet companies, and reduce the state income from taxes received from them. Also it violates human rights. In this regard, they asked to cancel the law.
Collecting petitions against the “law of Spring” is available in the two resources. For the month on the international portal Change.org signature left 610 000 people, the site “Russian public initiative” appeal gathered 100 000 signatures. This number is necessary in order to go to Parliament after approval by an expert working group at the Federal level under the government. The number of votes collected on August 13.

On 7 July the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the “anti-terrorist package” developed by the MP Irina Yarovaya and Senator Viktor Ozerov. The bill requires operators to store the emails and calls from users within six months. Mobile operators warned about three times the increase in prices due to the “law of Spring” and the inability to introduce 5G networks. According to them, if they incur costs of this level, it will degrade voice quality, interruptions in the delivery of SMS or inability to access the Internet.
