The next iPhone will be protected according to IP68 standard

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for his predictions about future Apple releases, reported Korean publication Economic Daily News that in 2019, Apple will unveil the iPhone that will be protected from water and dust to standard IP68.

In a research note to investors, which was published in Economic Daily News, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the next iPhone will receive the same standard of protection as the iPhone XS iPhone XS Max — IP68. The device can be kept in water at depths up to two meters for 30 minutes.

Technically speaking, the IP68 standard assumes that the device can be submerged under water to a depth of three meters. Therefore there is a possibility that Apple will improve this parameter and stores the index of IP68.

First protection from water and dust showed up in the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 and iPhone Plus X. These smartphones is protected under the standard IP67.

About the next generation iPhone almost nothing is known. According to rumors, 2019 Apple will introduce a smartphone with triple camera.
