The number of installations of Windows 10 has exceeded 400 million

Windows 10 operating system debuted on July 29, 2015, after which the license users of Windows 7 and 8.1 who reserve their copy of the OS, started to get free updates. 14 months after the release of the new platform installs of Windows 10 reached 400 million the company Microsoft announced the resource ZDNet.

In October last year, the number of installations of Windows 10 has already exceeded 120 million, at the end of December, information appeared about 200 million units. In may it became known about 300 million computers with “ten”. Thus, the OS took me five months to extend a further 100 million computers. Given the aggressive advertising policy of Microsoft, it is not surprising, but more interesting for 14 months from the date of the release system, the company failed to do half of the plan.

Today the market share of the latest OS from Microsoft is 23%, and among Steam users 64-bit version of the system is in first place in popularity. Still, support for the latest technologies, even if they are little involved in hardware, it often happens that warms the soul. It is interesting that many users are resigned to the collection of information of the OS, although some continue to believe it is evil.

The growth of the audience to Windows 10 obviously slowed down. But Microsoft’s goal remains the same – to reach 1 billion installations of Windows 10 in 2018. As we can see, if Microsoft doesn’t figure out how to accelerate this process, it risks not to meet until 2019 and 2020.
