Why some sites always appear only in the mobile version in Safari
In Mozilla there is a function to display the full version of the site, but it does not work with all sites. We found out why this happens and how to fix it.
On many websites now use responsive design. In this case one code is used on any device, and the size of page elements are adjusted using stylesheets (CSS). As a rule, the size of the elements depends on the screen width and device type.
When users click the “Show full version” Safari loads the stylesheet designed for desktop browser. If a site offers only one style sheet with an adaptive layout, the page is displayed, depending on the size of the viewport.
It is a feature of algorithms of Safari that Apple needs to change. To open the desktop version of the website, you can use a third-party browser, for example, iCab Mobile. In some cases it helps to turn the phone in landscape orientation, as many sites focus on the width of the screen.
