YouTube on iPhone X now supports HDR video

YouTube began gradually to enable HDR video on the iPhone X. this was reported by forum users on Reddit and MacRumors.

Some owners of iOS devices have the opportunity to watch video with high dynamic range. This was announced by the owners of iPhone X, but for some reason this feature does not work on the latest models of iPad Pro. Google has not publicly commented on this change.

On YouTube many videos with HDR support. Unlike conventional clips, video with HDR delivers a higher brightness and a wide dynamic range of colors. To check whether video on YouTube HDR, it is necessary during playback, press the menu button in the upper right corner of the screen and change the playback quality.

Besides iPhone X, HDR-video supported on iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. But they have IPS screens, so any HDR video that is playing on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, is actually not a true HDR.
