Apple to launch Apple Watch with microLED displays in 2020 – Economic Daily News

Apple is discussing with Taiwanese display manufacturers the possibility of using microLED technology. Economic Daily News writes, citing sources from the supply chain of components, that Apple Watch will come out with microLED displays already in 2020.

Installing a microLED instead of LG's OLED panels will make your smartwatch thinner and brighter, as well as reduce power consumption.

For the first time, a new type of display was started up in 2000, when scientists from the Technical University of Texas managed to create a microLED panel in the laboratory. However, the commercialization of technology began much later.

Like OLED, microLED provides better contrast, response time and energy efficiency than regular LCD displays. Unlike OLED, microLED is several times brighter than the competitor.

Apple will launch another AirPods before the end of 2019

Apple may launch another AirPods model this year, according to a report from the US investment company Wedbush.

Estimated third-generation AirPods will be completed in a new sports design and will receive protection from water. Perhaps the headset will have sensors to track some health indicators, such as heart rate.

Wedbush suggests that Apple will release a new headphone model on New Year's Eve.

Apple will launch four iPhone models in 2020 – JP Morgan

JP Morgan analysts said in a recent note to investors that Apple will launch four iPhone models in 2020.

It is assumed that three new iPhones will receive OLED-displays with a diagonal of 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches. These models will support 5G as well as advanced Time-of-Flight technology in main cameras.

The fourth model of 2020 could be a budget continuation of the iPhone SE. It will receive a 4.7-inch LCD-display and will not work with networks of the fifth generation.

JP Morgan analysts are optimistic about the introduction of 5G in Apple gadgets and predict sales of 195 million iPhones in 2020. For comparison, the estimated sales of the iPhone in 2019 will be 180 million units.
