MediaTek will release the first gaming chip
MediaTek published in the Chinese social network Weibo a poster with a reference to the not yet announced Helio G90 chip for gaming smartphones.
Presumably, the G90 is an enhanced version of the P90 chip, which consists of a processor with two Cortex-A75 cores (2.2 GHz) and six A55 cores (2.0 GHz), as well as an Imagination PowerVR GM9446 graphics processor (970 MHz).
Probably, MediaTek G90 will receive Mali-G76 or G77 graphic cores from ARM, or GPU from the new line of Imagination Furian.
Other information about the new product yet.
MediaTek hinted at the release of the G90 literally a day after Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 855 Plus, in which the manufacturer improved the graphics capabilities for demanding games, as well as AR and VR.
