New public beta versions of Apple OS have been released

Apple released the third public beta builds of iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 and macOS Catalina for everyone.

Public builds include all of the same innovations as the fourth beta version for developers, released July 17.

Some users complain about the overheating of smartphones after the update, but after a while the problem disappears.

Also, users of the latest beta versions of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 are faced with a Safari bug – the “open in a new tab” item has disappeared.

Otherwise, the current test builds are more stable than the previous ones.

Found a hole in Bluetooth, which allows you to hack the device with the operating system Apple and Microsoft

Researchers at Boston University have discovered a serious vulnerability in the Bluetooth communication protocol in Apple and Microsoft gadgets that allows attackers to track and identify devices. Vulnerabilities are subject to Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, as well as Microsoft tablets and laptops. Devices running Android are not affected.

Gadgets use public Bluetooth advertising channels to announce their presence to other devices. For security, most of them broadcast a random address that changes periodically. The researchers found that this information is enough to extract identifying tokens that allow you to track the device even after changing a random address.

The algorithm does not require decrypting messages or violating the security of the Bluetooth protocol, since it is completely based on public unencrypted advertising traffic.

Devices running iOS or macOS have two identifying tokens that change at different intervals. On …

iPad can be turned into a Touch Bar for any Apple computer.

Good news for owners of Apple computers without Touch Bar: in macOS Catalina, Apple added the ability to use the iPad as a touchpad.

The new Sidecar feature allows you to connect your iPad to your Mac either wiredly or wirelessly. The input device is supported by the Apple Pencil.

In macOS-applications with support for the touch panel, the controls are displayed at the bottom of the iPad screen, replacing the Touch Bar, which is in some models of MacBook Pro.

Sidecar feature is available on all MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac since 2015 release, as well as on Mac mini since 2014 and Mac Pro since 2013 release.

Hidden chips iOS 13, which Apple did not tell at WWDC

June 3 at the annual conference for developers WWDC 2019, Apple introduced new operating systems, the final releases of which will be held in the fall. Immediately after the event, registered developers were able to download the beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS 13, macOS Catalina, tvOS 13 and watchOS 6.

In addition to the main innovations, which were discussed from the stage of the Conference Center. McEneri in San Jose, where WWDC took place, we found some minor changes and hidden features in iOS / iPadOS 13.

Note that this is the first beta version, so some features in the final release may not turn out – as was the case with the FaceTime group calls that were announced with iOS 12.

The second beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, tvOS 13 and watchOS 6 for developers have been released

Apple released the second beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, tvOS 13 and watchOS 6 for developers. In them, the company eliminated the first build bugs.

We do not recommend installing builds for developers.

Unlike the previous version, iOS 13 beta 2 and iPadOS beta 2 can be downloaded “over the air”. To do this, simply install the developer profile, reboot the device and start the update.

New operating systems were presented at the WWDC Developer Conference June 3.

Apple is expected to release public beta in July, and the final release of all operating systems will take place in September.

Apple will transfer the features of some applications from iOS to macOS

Developer Steve Trouton-Smith discovered in the code of the recently announced macOS Catalina new versions of the Messages and Siri Commands applications, in which some functions were ported from versions for iOS.

Trouton-Smith also stressed that the interface of future applications is similar to that currently used in macOS Mojave, but for some functions (such as iMessage effects), it will use the Project Catalyst framework.

Project Catalyst, which was presented at the WWDC 2019 developer conference, was developed by Apple since last year, codenamed Marzipan. This tool allows developers to port applications from iOS to macOS, marking only one item when compiling a file in Xcode. Apple has already ported some applications (News, Home, Shares, Voice Recorder) from mobile to desktop.

ICloud will allow you to log in via Face ID and Touch ID

Apple is testing a new iCloud login method among iOS 13 beta testers, iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina. Users can login to their account using their Face ID or Touch ID.

When you go to the website beta.icloud.com in Safari, a pop-up window appears asking you to log in using biometric data. In this case, two-factor confirmation is not required.

Developers who have tried the feature note that logging into an iCloud account using Face ID and Touch ID is much easier and safer than entering a password.

The public beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina were released two weeks ago. The final release of the new Apple operating systems will be held in September.
