Qualcomm wants to ban iPhone sales iPhone XS and XR in China

Qualcomm is trying to ban the sale of new iPhone in China after made the ban on the implementation of the old Apple.

Qualcomm asked Chinese courts to forbid Apple to sell the iPhone XS, Max XS and XR in China because of possible patent infringement. Older iPhones are not to be sold because of a violation of the Qualcomm patents relating to photo editing and management applications using the touch screen.

Apple insists that these violations have been fixed in iOS 12, therefore, continues to sell smartphones in China. Qualcomm lawyer told the Financial Times that the company disagree with this. According to him, new suits are now pending in the courts of Beijing, Qingdao and Guangzhou. The publication notes that the judgment did not mention a specific version of iOS.

“We plan to use the same patents in lawsuits against three new iPhone models,” he told the Financial Times the lawyer Jiang Hongi representing the interests of Qualcomm.

China is not the only country where Qualcomm is trying to ban the sale of iPhone. The company wanted to achieve a ban in the U.S., but the court rejected this requirement.
