Volkswagen has revealed powerbank for electric vehicles
The company announced a mobile charging station for electric vehicles — they’re small and efficient.
Volkswagen has just shared the design concept of the device. According to the plans of the company, within the mobile stations will place batteries with total capacity of over 360 kWh will be enough for 15 standard electric cars. At the same time supports charging four cars: two for the DC outlet and two AC versions.
After depletion of up to 20% of the total capacity, the station will notify the staff. It can be replaced by a new with the loader. For motorists, Volkswagen is planning to develop a special application for quick search stations.
The station will operate in an uninterrupted mode — this will require a network connection with a capacity of at least 30 kW. There is an option and with the accumulation of energy from green sources like solar panels or wind turbines.
A pilot project on the use of mobile charging stations will start in the German town of Wolfsburg in the first half of 2019. A full release is scheduled for 2020.
