Login through Apple ID account called unsafe
The OpenID Foundation (OIDF) criticized the Sign In with Apple authorization service (“Login with Apple”), which was presented at the WWDC conference.
In an open letter that circulated OIDF, it says that the changes that Apple made to the OpenID Connect protocol may affect the security of user data. OIDF offered Apple to “fix” its service.
What kind of risks create changes that made Apple, the letter does not say.
Announcing the new service, Apple hinted that developers of similar services, such as Google and Facebook, are less concerned about protecting the personal data of users. It is curious that Google is included in the OIDF and finances its activities.
In June, Apple updated the user interface guide for application developers, noting the need to place the Sign in with Apple button above other authentication options.
