New malware for Mac sends screenshots of the cyber criminals

Recently, researchers from Malwarebytes found what they called “the first malware for Mac in 2017”. Malware was named Fruitfly. It can work on Mac invisibly to the user and the system for quite some time. It is reported that initially was created to attack on institutions that biomeditsinskie research.

AT is defined as “OSX.Backdoor.Quimitchin”. It contains outdated code. Some parts of it indicate the possibility of work on Linux. The malware communicates with attackers ‘ server and making a screenshot on Mac and Linux. Also created to gain access to the camera. To detect it, the researchers are seeing unidentified network activity Mac.

It is worth noting that the program is able to hide itself from the Dock. Fortunately, according to Malwarebytes, Apple already knows about the existence of a Fruitfly. Expect a patch that will protect our Mac from this malware.
