Samsung will release ultra-fast RAM for future flagships

Samsung has begun mass production of the industry's first 12-gigabit LPDDR5 memory module for phones. The company introduced this technology in 2018.

Also, Samsung will begin to produce 12-gigabyte LPDDR5 memory strip at the end of July. Like the current generation of LPDDR4X RAM, the new memory modules are built on a second generation 10-nm Samsung chip. According to the manufacturer, it is 1.3 times faster than its predecessor and consumes 30% less energy.

Eight of these chips in one 12 GB bar will allow smartphones with 5G support to transfer 44 GB of data in one second. Such smartphones can be used for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Samsung representatives said that these modules will be used in next-generation flagship phones, which will be released in 2020.
