New iPhone will cut bangs

TFI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that at least one iPhone model for 2020 will come out without a “bang”.

The design of the front panel will change if the iPhone gets a built-in display Touch ID scanner. Then Apple will be able to reduce the bang in size or even get rid of it by removing the TrueDepth sensor, necessary for Face ID.

It is unclear whether these design changes will extend to all Apple 2020 smartphones. Perhaps a model with a fingerprint scanner built into the screen will be exclusively issued for China.

Credit Suisse also issued a document for investors, which states that screen suppliers are actively developing display modules without top notching for Apple.
