Do not open short links in Safari? There is a solution

Recently, many Safari users on iPhone, iPad and Mac computers began to notice that short link in the browser (sort from Twitter) no longer open — Safari just gives an error message, but refuses to launch a site. This problem has several solutions, and everyone can choose for themselves the best.

First, it is the same simple — reload the page several times. It really works, tested in our editorial office. From about the fourth or fifth time Safari will open the page (what is that — is unclear).

Short link also appears if you remove the https and replace it with http. More “labor intensive”, but the time will spend less.

The following solution is valid at least for a day — delete your cache and history in Safari. On a Mac this can be done in the tab “History”, and on iOS it is necessary to find Safari in your device settings.

And the last option — use a different browser. Yes, in Chrome or Firefox the problem does not occur because these browsers correctly perceive short links unlike Safari. Chrome can be installed not only on Mac but on iOS.

It is hoped that in future versions of iOS Apple “help” Safari to work steadily in this direction.
