Amazon has fired the employee who leaked details of users dealers

In September, Amazon confirmed that some of the sellers registered to the marketplace, has accused the company’s employees in the theft of personal data.

The essence of the complaints was that the staff of the online retailer removed the negative reviews and received personal information, such as sales data and email addresses of customers. Then they probably sell these data to merchants. Today Amazon sent out an email to all registered users, in which he spoke about the dismissal of one employee involved in this case.

The person responsible for the incident, was dismissed from his post, and we support law enforcement authorities in the investigation.

Amazon also said that no other personal data except e-mail addresses, the attacker is not received.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the sellers are connected through intermediaries, with employees of Amazon, which sell them inside information. Thanks to these “plums” merchants get the edge over the competition.

Representatives of the online retailer noted that the company is investigating and has even created a “system for restricting and auditing access employees.”
